A special agent learned that the man was traveling from Minneapolis to Naytahwaush, had ties to the Native Mob criminal gang, and had multiple drug possession charges and numerous violent offenses.
According to court records, one of the suspects was using a tool to open the door, and deputies found a hammer at the scene that did not belong there. The hammer head was sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for testing, and the suspect's DNA was found to be on the hammer.
The witness said he saw the man cut in front of the woman’s car with his vehicle, almost running her off the road and forcing her to stop. The witness said the man got out of his vehicle and started pounding on the victim’s car and screaming at her, to the point that he thought the woman was going to be assaulted.
