CALDWELL COUNTY, Texas As case levels remain high, the Caldwell County judge said the county is hoping for the best as it re-applies to become a hub to get more vaccines to the people in the county and surrounding counties. We have 43,000 people in our county and Bastrop has 88,000 people in their county, said Caldwell County Judge Hoppy Haden. So if you look at it per capita, we have twice as many deaths and twice as many infections.
