When you have a home filled with beautiful European antiques and furnishings, you may prefer to have a kitchen that’s in keeping with the look. This was the case for the owner of this house, who has spent a lifetime travelling and collecting antique European furniture and joinery, some of it more than 250 years old. “With this passion for all that is old and imperfect, the aim was to complete a countryside new build with a ‘lived in’ feel that would complement the antiquities,” says kitchen designer Gillian Flynn of Kitchen Inspirations in Pukekohe.
