You closed it down earlier than that from china. Excuse me, i closed it down from china. By the way, some people think i should have waited longer and maybe ridden it out. I disagree with them, okay . It was thought of. That was an alternative so we did the right thing and our timing was very good. Mr. Trump also insisted that as presi

Has more. Good morning, elizabeth. Good morning, poppy, jim. Like you said, this is unprecedented. Ive been following the cdc for 30 years now, and president s dont ignore the cdc. They may not do exactly precisely, but they dont ignore this agency which is the most respected of its kind in the world. Lets take a look at what the cdc said last week, or what cnn found out last week, we first told you about it last week. Their guidelines were for daycare programs, people of faith, employers with vulnerable workers, restaurants and bars, mass transit administrators. They said, a team of people at the cdc spent numerous hours in response to an ask by deborah birx. She is the doctor that is the head of the Coronavirus Task force. Specifically what these guidelines said were things like, if youre going to reopen a school, the children should be sitting at desks that are six feet apart. Coronavirus now at 75,000 up more than 2,000 from this time yesterday. And it is more than what the white house had projected wed have by august 4th, which, of course, is more than three months from now. The number of confirmed cases tonight, 1. 2 million. These stunning numbers come as the Trump Administration is sidelining its Public Health experts. The administrations decision to bury the cdcs new Draft Guidelines for how states and businesses can safely reopen. The agency was told that some of the suggestions were too strict, but frankly most of them are fair. If you read through it, you will see, as one examples, schools they say you should cancel field trips and encourage students to eat in the classroom instead of the cafeteria. Thats too strict . Seems like its common sense. Trumps personal valet has tested positive for the virus. A source telling us the president was upset now theres a scramble to test everyone who came into contact with the valet, including the president. Mom

American schools. Dr. Fauci yesterday was a little cautious on reopening the economy too soon. Are you sure hes concerns. He wants to play all sides of the equation. When you say dr. Fauci is playing both sides i was surprised by his answer, actually, because you know, its just to me its not an acceptable answer especially when it comes to schools. So trump was saying faucis answer to schools specifically was unacceptable. So lets just, to be clear, play for you what fauci said. I think we better be careful if we are not cavalier in thinking that children are completely immune to the deleterious effects. The idea of having treatments available or a vaccine to facilitate the reentry of students into the fall term would be something that would be a bit of a bridge too far. Okay. So obviously concerned about the impact of the virus children, but then he was specifically asked to clarify what he meant by a bridge too far and fauch i was very clear and he said i did not mean to imply at all

Somewhat facing off with the police. You can see theyre literally face to face with officers standing behind the bikes. After that happened just a few moments ago, chanting things like hey ho Andrew Jacksons got to go and we were inside the white house and secret Service Officers came around to the reporters and said that we had to leave the white house grounds. Someone listening at home may not think thats unusual but it is incredibly unusual and i dont think weve been asked to physically leave the white house at a time like that but instead officers are coming around telling reporters to get off the white house grounds at that moment. Though its not clear why because, of course, if youre looking at Lafayette Square the statue is good 100 yards back from the white house so its not clear why. Were reaching out to secret service to get an explanation for why the white house reporters had to leave but what we are seeing now is these protesters clashing with police in front of the white h
