CANCER Research UK has confirmed that this year’s Race for Life Warrington will not be held in Victoria Park as planned. The popular event is staged annually in the town to raise money for research into cancer, which affects around 42,000 people in the north west every year. It was due to be held at Victoria Park on Sunday, September 12, but it has been brought forward to bank holiday Monday on August 30. It will also be staged at a different venue in Arley Hall due to uncertainty over the race clashing with other events. Any participants that have signed up for the event at Victoria Park will be transferred to the new date and venue.
