TEMPE, Ariz. – With back-to-back wins and team scores over 197.000, No. 7 Sun Devil Gymnastics is heading into their final home meet of the season on Saturday, facing Arizona for the second week in a row, this time with the Territorial Cup point on the line.
Arizona State (4-4)
The Gym Devils are coming off a fantastic week, scoring two major team scores of 197.450 and 197.050, ninth and 14th in program history, in wins over Arizona at home and at Washington.
The strong showings were just in time for the NQS (National Qualifying Score) rankings to start on Road to Nationals. Arizona State jumped up to No. 7 in the national rankings with an NQS of 197.075, the first time in the top 10 for NQS since 2006. Due to the different COVID season, the NQS this season is made up of the average of a team s top four scores (two home, two road/neutral).

Arizona State gymnastics (3-4) got back to its winning ways on Tuesday. A big-time performance pushed the Sun Devils 197.450-194.750 over Arizona (0-5) on Wednesday.
Emily White and Gym Devils dominated on bars and beam. White, Sarah Clark and Cairo Leonard-Baker had earned scores over 9.900, White’s 9.925 was enough to secure the bars title. Arizona State’s 49.400 team result on bars was the highest this season for the event and created a .650 difference between the two teams. Then on beam, the Sun Devils’ 49.350 secured their best result since 2009. White also grabbed the beam title after a 9.900 performance. Closely behind her was Megan Thompson and Hannah Scharf at 9.875.

TEMPE, Ariz. – Coming off of the best team score since 2006, another top-20 matchup is set for this weekend as No. 14 Sun Devil Gymnastics will travel to Berkeley to take on No. 16 Cal on Sunday at 3 p.m. MST.
