Six poacher boats captured within ten days

JUST over a week after two poacher boats were captured off East Cay, another four illegal boats were apprehended by Bush Cay, each with four people on board.
The Department of Environment and Coastal Resources (DECR) and marine police officers located the Panga style boats on the Caicos Banks on Thursday, January 21.
Sixteen people from the Dominican Republic were apprehended and found to have illegally caught marine product on board.
The amount of product has yet to be determined, the police press office said on January 22.
Four further Dominican nationals were arrested on Saturday, January 16, when two boats were intercepted south of East Cay.
