WELLFLEET A state plan to extend the Cape Cod Rail Trail to an end point on Route 6 has been put on hold, leaving the Bike and Walkways Committee to consider alternatives.
A two-part plan proposed by the state Department of Transportation and Department of Recreation and Conservation would have extended the trail, which currently ends at a parking lot on LeCount Hollow Road, north to Wellfleet Hollow State Campground and then to a location on Route 6 near Cahoon Hollow Road.
