From The Tribune staff reports TRUSSVILLE Friends of Pinchgut Creek unveiled a series of informational signs along the Cahaba River and Pinchgut Creek in Trussville on Thursday, Nov. 30. The Cahaba River Greenway is now home to five signs designed to inform the public about the waterways and animals that call the area home.
An Alabama environmental group is dealing with pollution of a different kind. The Cahaba River Keeper is asking for help with vaping pens that are being tossed in the river.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - The pandemic has reignited peopleâs desires to be outside. Luckily, West Alabama has tourist attractions that can provide just that.
At Canoe the Cahaba, David Butler, the Cahaba River Keeper, said many people do not know what west Alabama has to offer.
âWe want people to take advantage of it because the more people use it, the more resources that we can direct to preserve and protect, you know, these areas,â Butler said.
Butler said they want visitors to feel connected in some type to the river.
