New Canaan employee on leave following burglary charges in Norwalk

NEW CANAAN A town employee has been placed on administrative leave after being charged with breaking into several Norwalk businesses over a two-week period in October.
She has worked for the New Canaan Register of Voters since 2014, according to Human Resource Director Cheryl Jones. Lyon, who worked during the Nov. 3 presidential election, “is on administrative leave without pay,” Jones said Wednesday.
Lyon broke into “numerous local businesses during the overnight hours, causing hundreds of dollars of damage and stealing cash,” according to a Norwalk police report.
