Spanish football league La Liga has said it found no evidence that Valencia’s Mouctar Diakhaby was racially abused by Juan Cala of Cadiz during a league match last weekend.
A furious Diakhaby walked off the field on Sunday after being involved in a heated exchange with Cala and claimed the Spaniard used a racist slur towards him.
Valencia’s players left the pitch in solidarity with Diakhaby, becoming the first top-flight Spanish team to make such a protest.
The players later returned to resume the match, with the club claiming they were told they would be punished if they refused to return.

Spanish soccer team Valencia CF walked off the field in the first half of a La Liga match Sunday after defender Mouctar Diakhaby allegedly dealt with racist abuse from home team Cadiz. The visitors eventually returned, without Diakhaby, to finish out the game.
In the 29th minute, with the teams tied 1-1, Diakhaby and Cadiz s Juan Cala exchanged words. The situation became heated and Diakhaby had to be held back by players from both teams. After the game, Valencia captain José Luis Gayà told Spanish network Movistar that Diakhaby told us he heard a racist insult.

The fixture was stopped in the 37th minute after Valencia said their player Mouctar Diakhaby was the victim of a racial insult.
Diakhaby had been involved in a heated exchange with Cadiz’s Juan Cala before indicating to the referee David Medie Jimenez that he was leaving the field.
The Frenchman’s team-mates followed him off and Cadiz also went down the tunnel soon after.
