An Ontario judge stayed sexual assault charges Friday against a former cadet major after the alleged victim decided to walk away from the case over an “expansive” request by the defence to obtain records that included her counsellor’s files.
Kenneth Richards, a former major with the Canadian Forces Cadet organization is facing three sexual assault charges in civilian court after military police reopened a 2017 case three years after it was shut over lack of evidence, CBC News has learned.
