South Carolina vs. North Florida game recap: Gamecocks beat Ospreys 7-6
It required a late-inning rally, but USC came through with a midweek victory

After a rough weekend series, South Carolina got back in the win column with a come-from-behind midweek victory over North Florida.
The Ospreys wasted no time getting on the board, scoring in the top of the first inning on a Cade Westbrook sac fly and when Aidan Sweatt hit into a fielder’s choice, giving them a 2-0 lead. The Gamecocks answered in the bottom of the inning, though. Braylen Wimmer started things off with a solo shot to make it 2-1, then Brady Allen walked with one out and Wes Clarke went yard, putting USC on top 3-2.
This specific lead would be short lived. A fielding error by Cory Acton allowed UNF’s Cade Westbrook to score and tie the game up 1-1.
The Gators were unfazed. They let UNF have their run, because they weren’t at the plate.
Keeping Them Coming
In the top of the second, Butler, quickly back up to bat, singled up the middle to score Nathan Hickey from second.

This lead would never be relinquished. With two outs, the Gators once again loaded the bases. Unlike on Sunday, they took advantage of it much sooner. Colby Halter tripled to right center field to clear the bases. It’s now 5-1 Florida over UNF.
