Okowa lauds FG s Special Public Works Programme – Nigerian Observer

ASABA – Delta State Governor, Dr.Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday commended the Federal Government on the commencement of the Expanded Special Public Works Programme in the country. Okowa gave the commendation at the official flag-off of the Special Public Works Programme (the 774,000 jobs) for the South-South Geopolitical zone held at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Asaba. Represented by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, Governor Okowa expressed excitement on the commencement of the Programme adding that the program will help curb unemployment in the country. He advised the beneficiaries to see the opportunity as their little beginning while looking to the unveiling of similar projects to engage more Nigerians out of poverty.

Share The commencement of the Expanded Special Public Works Programme of the Federal Government has attracted the commendation of Delta State government. Giving the commendation at the official flag-off of the programme for the South-South Geopolitical zone in Asaba, Gov Ifeanyi Okowa also applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for not making the exercise a political issue adding that the program would help curb unemployment in the country. 774,000 jobs are being created across the country through the program with Delta state having 25,000 based on the number of local government areas. Represented by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, the governor advised the beneficiaries to see the opportunity as their little beginning while looking to the unveiling of similar projects to engage more Nigerians out of poverty.
