Unstable weather conditions have caused wildfires around B.C. to ignite, forcing thousands from their homes and thousands more could be told to leave at a moment’s notice.
Wayne Bilawchuk, president and emergency coordinator for Dorian Bay, a community of 35 lots on the east side of the lake, said the fire sprung up there on July 12.

The Eagle Bluff wildfire was burning uphill, away from the community, Monday night and thanks to the effort of fire crews and favourable winds, the fire's direction shifted.
