Twitter Explodes During UTEP Loss to FAU in CUSA Tournament
The 2020-21 UTEP men s basketball season came to an end last night in Frisco, Texas in the second round of the C-USA Tournament. The Miners, a 5th seed in the Western Division, lost to the Florida Atlantic Owls 76-70 in a tight game that was marred by controversy. With the score tied late in the second half, Bryson Williams made a move on the baseline and appeared to be fouled for a three-point play. Instead, veteran official Kerry Sitton blew his whistle and said that Williams was out of bounds. After watching the replay, it was obvious that Bryson s foot was nowhere close to being out of bounds. The Twitter world soon erupted around the country by people watching the game on ESPN+.
Whatâs the future for UAB head coach Bill Clark? (Source: WBRC) By WBRC Staff | December 22, 2020 at 6:57 AM CST - Updated December 22 at 12:25 PM
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The Auburn coaching search set its eyes on UAB head coach Bill Clark this week, but it appears Clark will remain in Birmingham.
Janice Rogers spoke with Clark early Tuesday morning and the coach said he met with his team Monday night to say heâs staying at UAB.
This is great news for the Blazers, who just won their second C-USA Championship in three years. Clark has a 40-22 record at UAB and has led the Blazers to four consecutive bowl games.
Huntington - The 2020 Ryan Conference USA Football Championship Game is Friday at 7 p.m.
The road to get this point, for both Marshall and visiting UAB, was a long one. The idea that this college football season could be considered illegitimate because of the number of contests, or the players who were either sidelined or opted out, or because of the numerous cancellations, postponements and rescheduled games, doesn t seem to sit well with any coach or player who endured the struggles to get here.
Marshall s football players, for example, returned to campus May 20 – nearly seven months ago. They were isolated, tested and then began off-season workouts in June. By July, preseason camp had started. Protocol mandated at least three tests per week for the coronavirus that has spread throughout the world in 2020. Of the 17 weeks of the college football season – from Week 0 on August 29 until now – only four weekends went as scheduled for the Thundering Herd football program.

HUNTINGTON – F
ans of hard-nosed, low-scoring football will probably enjoy Friday Night’s Conference USA Football Championship Game as East Division champion Marshall hosts West Division champ UAB at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
UAB (5-3, 3-1) earned its spot in Friday’s game with a 21-16 win last Saturday at Rice. Marshall (7-1, 4-1) had a game with Charlotte set for last weekend cancelled due to injuries and Covid-19 cases in the MU program. The Herd’s last game was on December 5th, a 20-0 home loss to Rice.

Nobody likes “the Man,” always holding us good folk down and keeping us from enjoying ourselves when we’ve done nothing but play a little football like everyone else.
