Yankees manager Aaron Boone began his morning news conference by announcing first baseman Jay Bruce will be suiting up one last time and then retire after Sunday’s series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays.
“He came to be Friday at the start of the series and had a long conversation about it,” Boone said. “It’s been a great run for him and he’s been a real pro for us.”

The pitching matchup is right-hander Jameson Taillon (0-0, 3.86) for the Yankees and left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu (0-1, 2.92) for the Blue Jays.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone juggled his lineup, which includes Aaron Hicks dropped out of the three hole, Gary Sanchez hitting lineup and Gio Urshela making his first start at shortstop since playing there in 2017 for the Cleveland Indians.
