The driver of a stolen car left a scooter rider with brain injuries after speeding away from police at 90mph.
Lawrence Barnes was behind the wheel of a stolen Vauxhall Zafira when police tried to stop him.
The 21-year-old raced along Moorgate Road North in Kirkby before driving into oncoming traffic on the dual carriageway and crashing into scooter rider Gabriel Marques.
After the collision on July 16, 2019, Barnes fled from the scene before being caught later that evening and admitting he had taken cocaine the night before.

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker Byton, backed by Apple assembler Foxconn, is in talks to go public through a merger with a special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC), people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Byton, whose key shareholders also include China’s state-owned automaker FAW Group and EV battery maker CATL, is in talks with potential SPAC companies and investors about the listing and plans to go public as early as this year, two sources, who declined to be named as the talks were private, said.
