Recently, Elon Musk thanked Jörg Steinbach the Minister of Economy, Labor, and Energy for the state of Brandenburg in Germany for supporting Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin. Musk visited Giga Berlin’s construction site over the weekend to check up on its progress.
Steinbach tweeted about his informal “catch-up” with Elon Musk at Giga Berlin earlier in the day. He seemed to be in a pleasant mood after the meeting Musk, noting the progress Giga Berlin’s construction has made over that last few months.
Great progress so far! Thank you for the support from Brandenburg. I would also like to express appreciation for the permit authorities, as I know this is a large and complex project.

A Tesla vehicle was involved in a multi-vehicle collision that resulted in the death of 35-year-old Steven Michael Hendrickson from Running Springs. Mainstream media have spun news of the crash that may lead some to conclude that the Tesla vehicle caused the collision.
A coroner’s report from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reveals that the multi-vehicle crash occurred on May 5, 2021, along State Highway 210 near the Citrus Avenue offramp. The collision involved Tesla Model 3 owner Steven Michel Hendrickson, an overturned semi, and other vehicles.
“NHTSA is aware of the incident involving a Tesla vehicle near Fontana, California on May 5. We have launched a Special Crash Investigation for this crash. NHTSA remains vigilant in overseeing the safety of all motor vehicles and equipment, including automated technologies, and leverages SCI where appropriate,” the NHTSA told

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating an incident involving a Tesla spotted on an Oakland freeway with no driver at the wheel and a lone passenger in the backseat.
Over the weekend, CHP’s Golden Gate Division posted about an “unusual incident involving a Tesla” on Facebook. “The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has been made aware of an incident involving a man riding in the backseat of a Tesla traveling on Bay Area roadways, with no other person being seated in the driver seat. The CHP received a report of the incident as third-hand information, and it is under investigation,” wrote CHP in its post.

Canaccord Genuity maintains a positive outlook for Tesla Energy’s future after TSLA’s Q1 2021 earnings call. In a note shared by
Street Guru, Canaccord wrote that Tesla is becoming “The Brand” in energy generation and storage.
Canaccord maintains a BUY rating for TSLA but reduced its price target from $1,071 to $971 to reflect near-term headwinds. The company arrived at its price point by applying 60 times their 24 EV/EBITDA estimate of $18 billion.
Canaccord expects accelerated growth in Tesla’s energy generation and storage business. It estimates that Tesla Energy’s business will grow above $8 billion in revenue in 2025 with gross margins at parity or better than its BEV business.

Tesla sold four times more Tesla Model 3 sedans than its closest competitor in Europe last month, hinting at its rising dominance in the region. The Tesla Model 3 made up over 10% of plug-in car sales in Europe last month, delivering 24,184 units out of the over 227,000 registered in March.

The Hyundai Kona EV was the second top-selling model in Europe last month with 5,643 deliveries. Hyundai sold the most Kona EV vehicles in Germany, delivering 3,237 units in March very close to Tesla Model 3 sales. The Korean automaker sold 800 Kona EV units in the United Kingdom, 409 in France, and 349 in Norway.
