Unibet Poker Plans July 1 Partial Withdrawal from Germany

Prominent global online poker site Unibet Poker has disclosed to its customers in Germany that, as of July 1, 2021, much of the site’s offerings will no longer be available to those players. Due to changes in Germany’s tax laws, Unibet will no longer offer cash games or single-table tournaments (aka, sit-n-gos or SNGs).

The planned changes mean that only two areas of poker action will be available to Unibet’s German players multi-table tourneys (MTTs) and the site’s popular jackpot-tourney variant, Hexapros. Also on the “no longer available” list in Germany: rewards that could be earned by players through Unibet’s loyalty program.

Clark County authorities have arrested and jailed one of two men believed to be responsible for a February residential burglary in which a safe containing a million dollars in cash and poker chips was taken from Las Vegas poker pro Chad Power. 32-year-old Brock Brewer of Las Vegas was arrested on Tuesday and charged with eight felonies connected to the burglary.

Online Poker Removed From Seminole Compact Legislative Discussions in Florida

The prospect of online poker soon becoming a reality for Florida residents via the state’s ongoing negotiations with the Seminole Tribe was dismissed entirely by Florida’s legislature on Monday. The body’s decision to remove any chance of online poker, or other forms of online casino gambling, came as the first order of business during a week-long, special session designed to debate the terms of a proposed 30-year compact deal reached last month between the Seminole Tribe and the office of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

The far-right entity has increasingly come under criticism for its deceptively edited videos of government officials who purportedly worked as “deep state” operatives dedicated to sabotaging all thing related to Trump and his policies.
