Byesville Mayor appoints Daulton Dolan as new police chief

Byesville Mayor Jay Jackson has announced the appointment of Daulton Dolan as the new Byesville Police chief.
Dolan is a lifelong resident of Byesville and has worked for the village as an officer on and off since 2013. Dolan has been a full-time officer since September 2019 under former chief Jason May.
Dolan had also worked for the Barnesville Police Department, Senecaville, Marshal and the Monroe county sheriffs offices.
Dolan will begin his official capacity as chief when he is sworn in later today by Jackson.
Dolan said he looks forwards to working with the community and other agencies to not only continue but expand upon the services of the Byesville Police Department. He credits former Chief May for opportunity, guidance and leadership development.
Project Updates From The Byesville Village Council Meeting
BYESVILLE, Oh It was a busy evening in the first council meeting since Byesville Mayor, Jay Jackson delivered his very positive and optimistic State of Village address. In his March 24
th address to councilmembers, Mayor Jackson touched on several topics of local interest including Economic Development, Beautification, Safety Services, Infrastructure, the Byesville Park and the Future of the Village.
Continuing that optimism tonight, Village Administrator, Brennan Dudley stated that, “There are a lot of things going on in the village. A lot of projects are advancing.” Some of those projects include:
The Byesville Water Improvement Project: This project is 99% complete with a punch list currently being completed. Dudley commented that they are “seeing great results from the new treatment process.”
