immigrants. senator cotton supporting president trump s push to buy green land. cotton revealed wednesday he met with the danish ambassador and proposed the sale of greenland to the united states. it is unclear if he was the one who initially brought up the idea but he said the island is, quote, vital to our homeland security and anyone who cannot see that is blind by trump s. house republicans are not only backing the idea of buying greenland, they are fundraising. donors receive a limited edition t-shirt depicting greenland as part of the united states. the promotion reads, quote,
called the idea absurd, the president called her nasty and canceled his upcoming trip to denmark. well today we learned they actually spoke on the phone. their conversation was constructive. but the drama far from over. in fact the nrcc, the fundraising arm of the republican party has started cashing in on it offering this limited edition t-shirt depicting greenland as part of the u.s. with every $25 donation, while supplies last, of course. even though he s already making campaign cash from all this, the president can t seem to let greenland go. nbc news and the washington post reporting that trump actually joked about trading puerto rico for greenland in order to get rid of the u.s. territory. puerto ricans aren t sad about it virtually telling trump go for it tweeting gem after gem giving the president a run for his money already calling themselves the caribbean vikings. some are even compiling starter kits including danish butter cookies, danish beer.
