relations committee very critical of john brennan here. the president is not on an island here. he is not on an island about the comments he made about omarosa here. this is unprecedented, but not in terms of the president. it is difficult to defend him. bob corker most notably, suzanne collins, but the fact that you have mccravens letter, so many are stepping forward out of their comfort zone i think is sight. you have senator john kelly calling brennan a butt head.
in the partisan way. i think i called him a butt head and i meant it. white house aides are concerns that omarosa could have as much as 200 recordings with mr. trump and other officials stashed away. claiming the president s daughter-in-law laura trump offered her a $15,000 a month position on the campaign. it sounds like there is a little like, obvious, there are some issues, clearly if you come onboard the campaign like we can t have we have to everything positive, right? and firing back, i hope it is all worth it for you omarosa because some things you just
say about this. might be finding themselves on the wrong side of history, but let me play back some of you. mr. brennan has gone way over the line on this one. and restricting his clearance, pulling his clearance makes sense to me. about time he did take away that. brennan has been outspoken for a guy who is dealing on national security interest as thoroughly as he was. i think i called him a butt head and i meant it. giving the national intelligence committee a bad name. interesting language. fairly outspoken for a guy who deals with national security. hasn t said anything to anybody that is classified. treated his access irresponsibly. it brings two messages into play. certainly confuses things. he is doing all of this, the president that is, in plain sight. and you would think that my colleagues would understand that.
sense to me. i don t think we should change the system because of brennan. i think the idea of collaborating with people in prior administrations to keep us safe makes sense. but i can t imagine sharing anything with brennan given his hatred towards president trump. why do people who no longer work for the federal government still continue to have a security clearance? is this nakedly political, all people who have opposed the president in some political way not just on the national security front. politics happening in washington, d.c., i m shocked. puerto rico brennan has demonstrated that that s not the case. he s been totally political. i think i called him a butt head and i meant it. those are the reviews on capitol hill from republican senators. president trump revoking the security clearance of former cia director of john brennan. welcome back to morning joe . it s friday, august 17th, 2018. with us we have, the host of casey dc on msnbc, kasie hunt.
he put out an expanding list. no one pushing back on him. response in congress, not getting a lot of push back there. when you look at people like sally yates, they have been involved in some former fashion in the russian investigation as well. two things, speaking out against him, and involvement in the russian investigation. i ve got to say, i was a little surprised not to have push back on the hill you mean his republicans who find no fault with this man. kennedy called him political and a butt head. so there is either going along with it and defending it or just completely down-playing it. chris, can i add a point. go ahead, john. i am disappointed in the reaction of his party including
