STAUNTON A truck driver was extradited from Puerto Rico on Tuesday and charged with sexually abusing a young Staunton girl, according to the Staunton Police Department.
Angel L. Vega Padua, 48, who has ties to Puerto Rico and is listed as a resident of Philadelphia, is facing a charge of aggravated sexual battery.
Authorities allege Padua sexually assaulted the Staunton girl last year. The girl is under the age of 12, an arrest report said. Police said the alleged assault took place in early November at a residence on the city s east side.
The incident was immediately reported and police launched an investigation.
