Yakima Christmas Trucks to Share Joy in Kennewick Tonight! A number of drivers from Eastern Washington will be in town flashing their semis, pickup trucks, and cars all adorned with Christmas lights and decorations. Yakima Christmas Trucks will be parading through Kennewick tonight, from 5 until 8, honking their horns and playing Christmas tunes. While there is no set parade route, they will be traveling down Kennewick Avenue between Highway 395 and South Morain Street between 5:30 pm and 6 pm. Some truck drivers have been participating in the tradition for 18-years with their lit-up trucks traveling as far as Cle Elum.  The Yakima Christmas Trucks will visit as many as 20 towns before Christmas Eve.

Yakima Christmas Trucks spreading holiday cheer

YAKIMA, WA - For nearly two decades now a group of volunteers have been lighting up neighborhoods with hundreds of thousands of lights on wheels. Nothing says Christmas cheer quite like roaring engines, honking horns and so, so, so much tape to hold down those lights.  We spread Christmas cheer, said Rene Jarvis who takes part with the full-tilt lit Critter Cab. I don t know who gets a bigger kick out of it. us or them. Well this is like a family tradition, I guess you could say, said Alan Benny. Because most of us have become family. In fact, some are family. Rene s big brother decorates and drives the famous Coca-Cola truck.
