Five South Florida middle schoolers are facing battery and hate crime charges after police say they attacked white students, punching and kicking them while yelling things like "it's opposite day" and "brown power."
The two incidents involving middle school students are unrelated. Still, various states report racially-motivated hate crimes are on the rise, prompting the DOJ to do something about it.
