i think rolling stone looked into this. they ve been savaging them. into bp and their history of long, long, long record of taking inappropriate risks. there are two problems here. i mean, they re problems for bp. right. businesswise, but politically mark halperin, this is also a laundry list of republicans, smart republicans, can use against the obama administration and democrats, saying, wait a second. you trusted this company for the first four weeks of the crisis? you guys had all this data. you didn t need it from the new york times. you knew about all the regulatory violations. and yet the president and the people that ran congress trusted bp to run this spill for the first four weeks? that s a theoretical argument they could make. but it would undermine their broader critique that the administration is too tough on business. so i think you re more likely to maybe hear that from the left than you are from the right. the white house is holding its breath today, t
