Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) Environment and Community Committee Chair Councillor James O’Shea said the new amenities block would provide a better experience for users. “Council is committed to ensuring that all members of our community have an opportunity to participate in sport and have equal access to our playing fields and sporting facilities,” Cr O’Shea said. The new amenities block will give sporting groups, schools, personal trainers, residents and everyone else equal access to facilities regardless of ability or gender.

Date Time Council further increases funding to water tank rebate scheme Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has added an extra $50,000 to the water tank rebate scheme to fund growing demand. TRC Finance and Business Strategy Chair Cr Geoff McDonald said that Council had decided to approve an additional $50,000 allocation for this financial year.. “The Scheme has proved very popular with applications received from residents and commercial businesses throughout the Toowoomba Region,” Cr McDonald said. “The eligibility for the rebate was updated in September to allow more residents to access the scheme, and the response has been overwhelming. “Since 1 July 2020, the Scheme has seen 102 successful applications at a cost to Council of $42,000.”
