Two area residents suffered serious injuries in a traffic crash in Lafayette County on Friday, April 9.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 59-year-old James Harker, of Lexington, overcorrected his eastbound vehicle after it had traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then slid off the left side of the roadway and struck a group of trees.
Harker and 33-year-old Natalia Mays, of Richmond, were transported by Lexington EMS and Life Flight Eagle helicopter, respectively, to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for treatment. Neither of the vehicle’s occupants was wearing a seat belt.
