NZ national conference industry association appoints two new board members
New Zealand’s national conference industry association, Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA), has appointed two new board members: David Perks from WellingtonNZ, and independent board director, David Downs.
BEIA board chair, Tony Gardner says both will add new skillsets, wide experience, and influence to help BEIA respond to the most pressing issues facing the business events industry.
David Perks is general manager, regional development, destination and attraction at WellingtonNZ, the capital’s economic development agency. He is also the chair of Regional Tourism NZ, is a board member of Tourism Industry Aotearoa, and has held several other appointed governance roles in tourism sector organisations.
Jeanette Stanton appointed events project manager for BEIA
Jeanette Stanton has been appointed events project manager for Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA).
She will be re-joining New Zealand’s industry association next month, following six years as marketing and business events services manager with Auckland Convention Bureau.
Previously she was instrumental in developing and managing key events such as MEETINGS and the industry annual conference as part of the BEIA team (then known as Conventions and Incentives New Zealand).
BEIA Chief Executive, Lisa Hopkins says not only is Jeanette an experienced event manager, she also brings great knowledge in business-to-business marketing and membership management, with a 20-year industry career behind her.
MEETINGS 2021 confirmed for June dates in New Zealand
New Zealand’s MEETINGS 2021 has confirmed it will take place from 2-3 June in Auckland, with its Hosted Buyer Programme launching early in 2021.
MEETINGS is organised by Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA). BEIA Chief Executive Lisa Hopkins says next year’s event will be critical for reigniting the industry and updating buyers on the latest venues and unique experiences across the country.
Hopkins commented: “With our trans-Tasman travel bubble looking to open next year, MEETINGS will be celebrating the return of Australian hosted buyers back to Aotearoa New Zealand, and we can promise them a huge welcome.
