Warehouse developer, water suppliers strike deal for Woolwich site

Liberty Commodore requested the resolution in a May 4 letter from its attorney to Woolwich. The three parties already have executed an agreement and the committee resolution is meant as an assurance for the N.J. Board of Public Utilities and rate counsel, the attorney stated. Woolwich planners last summer approved the project, a 455,280-square-foot warehouse. Commodore Business Center North is the developer s name for the project. The facility would go on about 45 acres on the northeastern corner of Route 322 and Stone Meetinghouse Road. It would offer parking for 317 cars, plus 85 tractor-trailers. The problem for the developer is the area is not serviced by the Woolwich water utility, Aqua New Jersey. The nearest Aqua water main not only is a considerable distance from the project site but “environmentally sensitive” land lies in between, according to the developer.
