LOWELL, Mass. â More than 1,000 educators, entrepreneurs and other experts will participate in the 10th annual Deshpande Symposium on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Higher Education Thursday, June 10 through Friday, June 11.
The virtual symposium is presented by its founders UMass Lowell and the Deshpande Foundation along with the Burton D. Morgan Foundation. The event â which is typically held in person each June â will be conducted virtually for the second time in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.Â

The Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF) is announces the first grants from the Stanley C. Gault Philanthropic Leadership Fund.
In May, the Wayne County Community Foundation board approved the Fund’s Advisory Committee’s recommendations for the following grants:
Ohio’s LifeCare Hospice received a $50,000 grant for its Hospice Center for Supportive Care Campaign
Downtown Arts Theater Inc. received a $20,000 grant for the purchase of the theater building in downtown Wooster. An $80,000 grant has been approved for Phase 2 of the project, to be awarded when the project is within 10% of its stated campaign goal.
The Stanley C. Gault Philanthropic Leadership Fund was established at the Wayne County Community Foundation with a grant from the Burton D. Morgan Foundation to perpetuate the ideal of service and active involvement in philanthropy Stan Gault embodied throughout his life.

Stark County’s own Delta Media Group and ProTech Security are two of the 14 companies selected to participate in the fifth cohort of the Scalerator NEO program. Funded by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation and the Fasenmyer Fund, this six-month educational program is designed to help entrepreneurial leaders quickly, profitably and sustainably grow their business.
The cohort-based program targets entrepreneurs and leaders who want to deliver immediate growth to their businesses through innovative and revised operating models. Proven successful, 75% of participating companies increase their growth by 25% or more following completion of the program.

PORT CLINTON - The Ottawa County Community Foundation (OCCF) has set its sights on exceeding expectations in 2021 and beyond, with the recent implementation of its Sustainability Initiative, a key element of the board s plan to ensure it builds its discretionary resources for an ever-greater impact on the future of Ottawa County.
To celebrate, the Burton D. Morgan Foundation committed a $20,000 matching grant to the OCCF Sustainability Fund, helping donor gifts to have double the impact while OCCF continues its charitable mission of Doing Good. Forever.
