Unpaid overtime and stress - the hardest places to work

LOCAL workers are slightly less stressed at work than the average across Britain, but that may not be too much of a consolation given that we live in ‘Burnout Britain.’ A new survey shows that more than 3 out of 4 workers in the country experiences burnout at work, at least sometimes. Stress, lack of support and long working hours all contribute to burnout, and West Midlands is no exception. It comes in at 7th out of 12 in the league table of burnout regions. People in the region are putting in an additional 7.9 hours a week of overtime, but almost 6 in ten are not getting paid for the extra work they do.
