1,000 people have died in East Lancashire hospitals from coronavirus MORE than 1,000 people have died from coronavirus in East Lancashire Hospitals since the start of the pandemic, according to figures. The East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, which operates the Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley Hospital sites, registered five more COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours to take the total up to 1,003. In the North West, Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust has had the most number of deaths with 1,545, followed by Liverpool University Hospital (1,515) and Manchester University Trust (1,120).
