Dozens of members and supporters of Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club attended the group’s annual presentation night on Saturday (February 11th) when a bumper cheque was presented to a regional charity.

Highbridge businessman Terry Rickard from Burnham Waste has donated a huge £5,000 to fund the purchase of new life-saving defibrillators next to sports pitches in the area after reading a Burnham-On-Sea.com news story in which a local football club appealed for funding.

The clubâs Duncan Britton has this week thanked residents in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge for their backing.
“We collected 112 trees for recycling which went far beyond our expectations,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Huge thanks go to all the residents who generously gave donations to the club and also to Terry Rickard at Burnham Waste for kindly recycling the trees for us free of charge. We are very grateful for his support in making the service viable.”
