Voiculescu: This week I will present real situation of major burn victims; worse than 2016

This week I will present the real situation of the treatment of Romania s serious burn victims. I do not believe you know the real situation. The real situation is much worse than that of 2016. There are fewer beds, beds which were decommissioned, bad investments were made, investments deferred indefinitely, Voiculescu declared in Parliament.

tonight we re learning more about the terribly burned victims, which include an american couple on their honeymoon. ramy inocencio is in new zealand. reporter: what was a rescue operation just a day ago is now a mission to recover the bodies of eight missing tourists on an adventure that ended in disaster. paramedic russell clark got the first ground-level look at the aftermath of the eruption. he found no survivors. it was like like i ve seen the chernobyl mini series. there was just everybody was blanketed in ash. i can t imagine what it was like for people who were there at the time. reporter: 47 people, including nine americans, were touring the volcano when it erupted. dozens remain hospitalized. burn units are at capacity. lauren urey of virginia had been on a honeymoon cruise with her husband, matthew. she suffered burns over 25% of her body, matthew over 80% of his, according to their family.
