American food company Hormel Foods announced Tuesday that it has opened its new Papillion Foods dry sausage products manufacturing plant in Papillion, NE.
“We are excited to be opening up this facility to not only help meet the demand for our branded sausage product, but also provide fantastic career opportunities in the community,” Ed Finnegan, plant manager of the Papillion Foods site, said in a company release. “We’ve been able to hire a great team thus far and are looking to welcome even more to our family at Papillion Foods.”

Burke Corporation, a subsidiary of Hormel Foods Corporation and an industry leader in foodservice fully cooked meat toppings and ingredients, recently announced the opening of its new 210,000 square-foot expansion at its facility in Nevada, Iowa.
“This is an exciting time for us, and we are thrilled to be adding this state-of-the-art expansion to our 420 inspired team members and the new jobs to the community,” said Chad Randick, president of Burke Corp. “The new addition has industry-leading sustainability features and helps us continue our efforts to operate a world-class food quality and safety facility.”
The company’s commitment to food safety, food quality and production efficiencies is apparent throughout the new sustainability features incorporated into the facility. The additions include a heat recovery system, high-pressure belt system and ammonia compressors and provide efficient processes to reuse heat and water usage throughout the facility.
