Connecticut is offering an innovative new program to encourage residents to go out and get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Participating restaurants in Connecticut are offering a free drink to customers who show their COVID-19 vaccination card between Wednesday, May 19, and Monday, May 31, provided the patron purchases food during the visit.
Gov. Ned Lamont announced the initiative on Monday, April 26, noting that the limit will be one drink per person. A limited number of Connecticut restaurants initially opted into the program, with more expected to in advance of the program becoming active.
Lamont noted that “each individual restaurant will determine which drinks are ‘on them.’”

What’s better than a free Krispy Kreme doughnut after getting your COVID-19 vaccine? How about a free cocktail?
Participating Connecticut restaurants are offering one free alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink to customers who show their vaccine card. The promotion will run from May 19 to 31, as all outdoor COVID restrictions end.
A food purchase is required, and the offer is limited to one drink per person. Each restaurant will determine which drinks are “on them.”

Have you been fully vaccinated? Then you could get a free drink on a Connecticut restaurant.
To appeal to Connecticut’s younger demographic, who are showing less urgency to get vaccinated, some restaurants in the state are saying get inoculated, then come have a drink on us.
Starting May 19, the same day all outdoor COVID restrictions in the state go away, until May 31, people who are fully vaccinated will be able to show their vaccination cards at participating restaurants to get a free drink with their purchase of a food item.
