He also told the meeting it had worked closely with the school and highway authority to agree “improvements to the existing highway” and the school facilities, including dedicated laybys for buses for pupils to be dropped off.

Small number of Covid-19 cases reported at Burgate School

A small number of Covid-19 cases have been reported at Burgate School. The secondary school and sixth form college has had to send a number of pupils home to self-isolate as a result. A spokesperson from Hampshire County Council said: We are aware of a small number of cases of COVID-19 in The Burgate School community– fewer than five - requiring a modest proportion of the school having to isolate. The secondary school remains open and any pupils who are self-isolating are continuing their education via remote learning. We are unable to provide further detail about cases as the information is confidential.
