The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation will conduct an investigation into the shooting.
At a press conference Tuesday afternoon following the shooting, Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten II confirmed there was body camera footage of the event but would not identify the deputy or say how many shots were fired.
