After assessing itself as having achieved 95 per cent of its respective targets in the NRM Manifesto 2016-2021, the Office of the Prime Minister looks ahead to restructuring itself for purposes of scoring even greater heights.
Moses Kizige, the state minister for Karamoja Affairs, said this while presenting the report on the implementation of the NRM Manifesto 2016-2021 Commitments and the presidential Strategic Guidelines and Directives for 2016-2021 on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. The report was officially scheduled to be presented by the minister for General Duties at the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), Mary Karooro Okurut.

Masindi, Hoima, Buliisa, and Kiryandongo districts mainly elected new MPs and ejected incumbents.
These include Mr Joab Businge (FDC), who defeated Bunyoro Affairs minister Earnest Kiiza in the race for the Masindi Municipality MP seat, Mr Kenneth Kiiza Nyendwoha (Bujenje – Independent), Mr Alled Akugizibwe (Buruli - Independent) and Mr Allan Atugonza (Buliisa –NRM).
Mr Nyendwoha said building a foundation of unity for easy lobbying and demanding better services in Bunyoro will be his first priority.
He said he will also lead a joint effort to demand a public university and expansion of Masindi hospital.
“If we work together, we will achieve more for our constituencies to push for what belongs to us,” he said.

President Museveni starts his campaign in Bunyoro Sub-region, one of his strongholds since he came to power, but a few longstanding unresolved issues will confront him on the trail.
In the 2016 elections, Mr Museveni polled 81.4 per cent in Kibaale District, 74.47 per cent in Hoima, 69.62 per cent in Masindi and 68.74 per cent in Buliisa. Only two of the 23 MPs in Bunyoro are independents. The rest belong to NRM party. The NRM also dominates the local government seats in the area.
