A crowd of 850 walked through the gates of the Bundaberg Racecourse on Saturday for the Bundaberg Catholic Schools Race Day.
The race meet was the biggest in 12 months bringing good times and much needed funds for the local Catholic schools and the Bundaberg Race Club.
Club president Dale Rethamel said it was a âmagicâ day.
âIt was a fantastic day, it was great to see everyone coming out and support the local country races,â he said.
âThe catholic schools are a fantastic supporter of the Bundaberg Race Club and they put on a magic event in the private area.

The clouds cleared and hundreds made their way through the gate of Thabeban Park for Bundabergâs Catholic Schools Race Day.
Hundreds were expected to head through the gates for this years event, with Gatsby being the marquee theme for 2021.
While there was no fashions on the field competition, it didnât stop keen racegoers dressing to the nines for the event.

Subscriber only Keen racegoers will head to the track on Saturday for the first race day in Bundaberg of 2021. The Waves Sub Clubs Beach Party Race Day will be the first race meet since covid restrictions were brought into place to allow ticket purchases at the gate. Bundaberg Race Club president Dale Rethamel said racegoers were excited to head trackside. He said with restrictions eased, they were expecting to welcome up to 500 people to the races. Everyone s always excited to come to the races and there have been a lot of questions about what they can and can t do, he said.
