As of Jan. 26, COVID-19 deaths in the state totaled 8,915.
In Buncombe County, another 55 cases Jan. 25 increased the new total to 12,888 and a total of 248 deaths.
Hospitalizations
Hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients across the state dropped by more than 60 patients according to the state Department of Health and Human Services dashboard.
Statewide, North Carolina reported 3,305 COVID-19 hospitalizations as of Jan. 26, down 63 from Jan. 25.
The state reported 398 confirmed positive patients admitted in the previous 24 hours.
At Mission Health, there were 130 lab-confirmed COVID-19 patients across its area hospitals, reported spokeswoman Nancy Lindell.
Of patients in the hospital as of 8:30 a.m. Jan. 27, 93 were at Mission Hospital in Asheville, nine at Angel Medical Center in Franklin, four at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, 11 at Mission Hospital McDowell in Marion, 12 at Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard and one at Highlands-Cashiers
