Bullar Road, Southampton A MAN has been given a temporary ban after getting caught more than three times the drink driving limit. Ian McConachie was pulled over driving a Ford Mondeo in Bullar Road in the Bitterne area of the city. The 65-year-old was given a breath test and gave a reading of 106mgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The limit is just 35mgs making him just over three times over. Appearing at Southampton Magistrates Court, the 65-year-old of Whitworth Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty to a single count of drink driving. He has been given an interim ban and is due to be sentenced on July 30 this year at the same court.

Plans to turn a Southampton house, far left, back into a nursery have been submitted to the city council. PLANS have been unveiled to turn a Southampton house back into a nursery for up to 50 children. The property at Shaftesbury Avenue, Southampton, was used as a nursery until 2017 and is currently a House of Multiple Occupation (HMO). If the scheme is given the go-ahead the nursery will be run by the previous occupant, Tiny Stars Nurseries. The application says: Southampton City Council receives funding to provide 15 hours a week of free childcare for disadvantaged two-year-olds. The site is located within an area with significant numbers of eligible families and has subsequently seen a rise in demand for places at other providers.
