The Bulgarian Renewable Energy Act (RESA) defines renewable energy as energy from renewable non-fossil sources: wind, solar, aerothermal, geothermal, hydrothermal, ocean energy, hydropower, biomass, renewable gas, landfill gas and sewage treatment plant gas. This definition is based on the listed sources from which the energy is produced. No legal definition of ‘clean power’ is provided in Bulgarian law.
