PUCHONG: Exploring the scenic trails of Wawasan Hill in Pusat Bandar Puchong has become even more convenient, thanks to the recent addition of 49 new parking lots at the trail entrance.
KLANG Valley folks are glad to finally get back to their favourite hiking trails and waterfalls with the reopening of several permanent forest reserves in Selangor on Saturday (Feb 5).
THE other day, I noticed a paradox on my friend’s Instagram posts.
Johan Hulaimi has been sharing photographs of himself working out in the gym. The 92kg man looks fit after shedding 40kg since he began his weight loss journey in 2019.
The 42-year-old has also been posting pictures of his Instagram-worthy big dinners.
How’s it possible that he’s exercising, eating big and losing weight at the same time? I thought, “Is he cheating?”
That got me reflecting on my own exercise and eating regime.
Over the last three months, I’ve been clocking two-hour hikes covering nearly 4km almost four times a week at Bukit Gasing in Petaling Jaya and Bukit Wawasan in Puchong. Hiking is such a mentally and physically rewarding activity that I’ve bought a headlamp to do 5am hikes, when it’s obviously still dark.
Climbers now enjoy 5G telecommunication technology on Mount Everest 29 Dec 2020 / 10:31 H. A group of tourists enjoy the view of the Everest from the Kala Patthar landmark peak.
KUALA LUMPUR: When the country’s first two climbers, Datuk M. Magendran and Datuk N. Mohanadas, set foot on the peak of Mount Everest more than two decades ago, they communicated with walkie-talkies and had to wait more than 10 days to process the photos they took on the world’s highest mountain.
Now everything is fast and sophisticated. Following the success of Huawei and China Mobile in installing two 5G base stations on the mountain last April, climbers can now use various communication devices, including smartphones, and directly upload photos and videos of their travel with the device, up to an altitude of 6,500 metres.
