Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigations and Enforcement Department Chief Assistant Commissioner Zulkefly Yahya. But here’s the kicker, turns out there’s TWO legendary Kancil buruk! There’s not one, but TWO legends. The mystery driver has actually been chugging along the roads with two similarly disheveled Kancils, one in dark green and the other that’s got splotches of yellow. Both vehicles did not have road tax, nor were they in any condition to be driven safely on the roads. The (yellow) Kancil did not have road tax, did not have a roof and the front tire on the right side was broken. The green Kancil had a broken mirror on the left rear door.

Heart and Soul: Community hall is grandpa s legacy

April 22,1979, saw the inauguration of a new community hall for the people of Raub, Pahang. Standing majestically between the Siva Subramaniar Hindu temple and the Kuan Yin temple in Jalan Lipis, this community hall was built at a cost of RM150,000. The man who constructed and gifted this building to the people of his beloved town was my paternal grandfather, S.K. Ampalavanar. The reason behind his benevolence was to pay back the society that propelled him from rags to riches. I vividly remember the opening ceremony of the hall. It was a lavish affair filled with traditional dances, mellifluous songs and much fanfare. The hall was named after him – Dewan SK Ampalavanar.
