the statement speak for itself, wait till mr. comey testifies. they have not said anything formally about it. they were pretty preoccupied today with the president s announcement of chris ray to be his nominee for fbi director. greta, i think it is important to realize what this statement is and what it isn t. it is certainly more than merely a recitation of his meetings with the president because he talks additionally about his concerns that he expressed to others at the fbi, some that he passed along to senior people at the justice department, asking jeff sessions, the attorney general, to try to forestall any further one on one meetings between comey and the president, and comey says in his prepared statement that mr. sessions never responded to that. it doesn t say anything about why comey thinks he was fired, how he was fired. so, it s interesting to note what it is and what it isn t. he doesn t say here whether he thinks he doesn t offer any commentary that he felt pressured to

just says it s basically a private conversation. right. and i don t see the legal basis for either of those claims. to set this straight, executive privilege doesn t belong to these two men. it belongs to the president. and the president asserts that. they went rogue and decided even though we taxpayers pay their salaries and even though senate has oversitght, they just aren talking. greta, do you think i m going to go they went rogue? i don t know the basis for the privilege. no explanation? at the moment, no. i ll give you a second. sit right there and think of one. i ll go to you, clint. clinton, your thought on this i think they re trying to side step a bit because they re waiting to citi what fbi director mueller does with his investigation. and they don t know how their statements might play into the special counsel. the other thing is they don t know what kind of counterattack might be mounted against them by the trump administration if they come out with these so
