The
2021 GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week has officially concluded with the completion of the
$10,300 Super MILLION$ Main Event. Even though it fell short of the $10 million guarantee by 24 entries, the 976-entry strong field was the biggest the flagship High Roller tournament on GGPoker has ever attracted.
After just two and a half hours, the final table wrapped up and the UK s
Ben Ward defeated 2019 WSOPE Main Event champion
Alexandros Kolonias in a short-lived heads-up battle. Both players collected seven-figure paydays as Ward earned the top prize of $1,242,332 while Kolonias walked away with $1,000,991.
Javier Gomez turned the second-shortest stack at the start of the final table into a third-place finish for $818,576. The Spanish pro was one of four players who bowed out in the span of just 15 minutes as the tournament raced to a rapid conclusion.
GGPoker thanks to the online poker network hosting the
Super MILLION$ Week from Feb. 28 to March 7. The eight-day festival is full of action with 31 tournaments
boasting combined guarantees of $30 million!
This is the biggest poker festival dedicated to high rollers at GGPoker and eclipses the 20 tournaments and $22 million in guarantees featured during High Rollers Week in November.
To say the buy-ins for these events are big would be an understatement with each event s entry cost ranging from $108 all the way up to $25,500. Of course, there are plenty of satellites and feeder tournaments for those looking for a big payday at a cheaper price.
Flip & Go tournaments have been live in the client for a couple of weeks now, and players have been getting to grips with them.
The innovative combination of flips and normal tournament play make them attractive to novices, as well as experienced players.
In fact,
Bertrand ElkY Grospellier and
Fedor Holz are both fans, and we caught up with them for a chat about how they re enjoying Flip & Gos.
PokerNews: Hey guys, thanks for speaking with us. Tell us, what did you make of the Flip & Go tournaments when you first found out about them?
Bertrand Elky Grospellier: I instantly loved the concept. It s a great idea, to be able to jump directly to the most exciting phase of the tournament.
