Erie County District Attorney John Flynn announced on Thursday that the 19-year-old college student who disappeared from Buffalo State College last month committed suicide after getting into a fight with her boyfriend that ended in a breakup.
Saniyya Dennis was last seen on April 24 leaving her dorm room.
According to Flynn, after the fight, Dennis told her boyfriend and another male friend that she was planning to commit suicide.
The parents of the teen, Latisha Dennis and Calvin Byrd, former Dipset rapper 40 Cal, learned of the news on Wednesday after spending days searching for their missing daughter and offering a $10,000 award for information leading to her discovery.

Law enforcement officials say it appears missing Buffalo State student Saniyya Dennis took her own life based on a timeline of her last 24 hours. Dennis, a 19-year-old Buffalo State College student, was last seen leaving her residence hall on Saturday, April 24.
During a press conference on Thursday, May 6, New York officials announced they came to the conclusion after conducting an extensive investigation into the teen’s whereabouts. “An exhaustive search and review of the evidence has been done and it appears that this poor girl took her own life,” Erie County District Attorney John Flynn told reporters.

BUFFALO, N.Y. Law enforcement officials provided more details on the disappearance of a missing woman, Saniyya Dennis.
Dennis, a 19-year-old Buffalo State College student, was last seen leaving her residence hall on Saturday, April 24.
